A Refreshed Kiger Hits Indian Roads
Renault India has just launched the facelifted Kiger, with prices starting at Rs 6.30 lakh and going up to Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom) — making it a hot topic in the compact SUV segment. This marks the Kiger’s first major update since its debut in 2021, and it’s the second big move from Renault’s “Rethink” strategy, just after the Triber facelift. Buyers now get to pick from four fresh trims: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion.
Eye-Catching Exterior Makeover
The 2025 Kiger facelift packs a punch with assertive new styling. The front sports a sleek reflective black grille featuring Renault’s newest diamond logo, a bolder bumper with a wide intake, and a shiny silver skid plate. Higher trims boast full-LED fog lamps, while signature trip-pod LED headlamps and LED DRLs keep the SUV looking sharp. At the back, a revamped bumper and smoked lights make the SUV feel fresh, paired with snazzy 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels for extra appeal.
A new Oasis Yellow dual-tone paint job joins nine other colour options, making the Kiger stand out even more. The car is now available in seven eye-catching shades — including two new additions: Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey.
Stylish, Upgraded Interiors
Inside, the Kiger gets a cool Noir and Cool Grey theme, plus improved materials and ventilated leatherette seats for extra comfort. A multi-view 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, and wireless charging amp up the convenience. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system now comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and six-speaker ARKAMYS surround sound creates an immersive music experience.
Renault promises segment-best space, with a massive 405-litre boot, 222 mm rear knee room, and 710 mm front seat distance. Premium insulation in the dash, flooring, and A-pillars means the cabin is quieter and more refined.
Still Powerful Under The Hood
The Kiger facelift keeps its reliable engine choices:
- 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol: 72hp, 96Nm (5-speed manual or AMT)
- 1.0-litre turbo-petrol: 100hp, 160Nm (5-speed manual or CVT)
A dealer-fitted CNG kit is also on offer. Renault claims the turbo-petrol version leads the segment in torque-to-weight ratio and sprints from 0–100 km/h quicker than rivals. Fuel efficiency ranks among the top for turbo-petrol manual SUVs, delivering up to 20.38 kmpl (ARAI certified).
The Kiger now features Mirror Bore Coating tech, borrowed from racing, promising better fuel economy, power, and engine durability. Buyers can choose between Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes for more tailored performance.
Safety Gets A Big Boost
Safety takes the spotlight with six airbags now standard across all trims — up from just two before. The car packs in 21 active and passive safety features, from ESP and hill start assist to TPMS and rear parking sensors.
Other highlights include a robust CMFA+ platform, functional roof rails that can carry up to 50kg, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Every seat gets three-point seat belts, and six airbags cover front, side, and curtains.
Kush Maini Endorses The Drive
Racecar driver Kush Maini — fresh off a Monaco GP win — test drove the new Kiger and was all praise. “It’s fun to drive, easy to change direction, holds its line in corners, and doesn’t roll much—it’s genuinely enjoyable,” he said.
